My colleagues and I have been ‘adopting’ a family at Christmas through WoodGreen for 4 years now. It’s become part of our holiday tradition and everyone gives generously, pitches in to help with shopping and wrapping. It’s a great feeling for all of us to help out a family and it’s part of what makes the holiday season special for all of us. Our families have always needed a lot of basic things like bedding and dishes and it’s been so gratifying to be able to buy them all those things, plus some more personal presents, besides. Thanks so much to all the staff at WoodGreen for offering the program and for making it so easy for us to experience the joy of sharing with others during the holiday season. We enjoyed the Thank you note so much, after you do this you wonder if you did it right, was it the right items, did they like it, was the family happy and getting the thank you note lets us know that yes they liked it. At this time of year it is good to count your blessings and helping someone with a hand up is a great way to spread holiday cheer. This is our 4th year doing this with WoodGreen and we plan to continue. Anonymous
 
WoodGreen’s 2011 Adopt A Family Holiday program was once again a huge success and we couldn’t have done it with you! With the support from 32 corporations and 37 individual donors, we exceeded our goal and helped 112 families and individuals this holiday season.   THANK YOU!
How does the Adopt A Family Holiday program truly impact our clients? For some, it means:
·         Your support will be the only holiday gift they receive.
·         A gift as simple as laundry detergent will give clients the opportunity to save a few extra dollars. 
·         Easing the emotional pain the holiday season can bring.
·         For those that can’t leave their homes or have no home to go to, your kindness makes them feel special. 
For all of our clients, it means someone cared enough to help them and that is the biggest gift of all.
