"I find that as I walk into the entrance at WoodGreen, I am smiling because I know that
someone will smile back at me. That exchange of happiness and sincerity is an experience
I will never forget."
Program assistant for seniors
"WoodGreen gave me a reason to get out of my routine of babysitting my grandchildren
every day, and has made me more active in the community."
Seniors program volunteer, Executive Committee member, and fundraiser
"On my first day I was a little nervous, but the staff at WoodGreen made me feel
comfortable. I really enjoy volunteering at Woodgreen, because I have gained a lot of
experience that I would not have learned if I had not been placed at Woodgreen as a
volunteer."
Student co-op placement volunteer
"WoodGreen gave me support when I had three relatives in my family pass away. I do volunteer
work in delivering the mail and have been on several committees for WoodGreen. When I do
volunteer work I get to meet new people, and I get to talk, laugh and joke with different members
of different departments."
Former WoodGreen client and volunteer
"For me, volunteering at WoodGreen means putting my skills and abilities to use in a
constructive way. It is a wonderful way to help others out ?and at one point or another everyone
needs a little help."

At WoodGreen, we believe strongly in recognizing the incredible contributions of our voluneters.
We do this through the Ontario Volunteer Service Awards, which are presented to volunteers who
contribute consecutive years of volunteer time to a community within Ontario. It's a way for
the government, and for WoodGreen, to recognize and thank volunteers for their commitment and
dedication. Awards are given for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service.
We are proud to recognize WoodGreen's award recipients:
